A clearer way to start an electrical job
Sparky Local is a starting point for home electrical work. Tell us the job once, and we pass it to a licensed local electrician who covers your suburb and can give you a free quote.
Our promise
Free to get a quote
Getting a quote through Sparky Local costs nothing, and you're under no obligation to accept it.
Only licensed electricians
We only work with licensed electricians. You won't be sent anyone who isn't licensed to do the work.
Insured, with their own warranty
Every partner carries public liability insurance and provides their own workmanship warranty on the work they do.
Who we partner with
Our standard is an electrician we'd be happy to have working in our own homes. Every partner is licensed and insured, and we vet them on the quality of their work, their reliability and whether they work locally. We don't choose them for being the cheapest.
Partners are independent businesses. They carry out the work under their own licence, insurance and warranty.
Who does what?
Sparky Local takes your enquiry, checks the service and location, and passes it to a suitable partner. The electrician assesses the job, confirms the scope, gives you the quote and does the work.
Sending an enquiry doesn't book an appointment or lock in a price. Prices vary from job to job, so the quote you get is for your home, and you decide whether to go ahead.

Before the work starts
Get the quote in writing
Ask the electrician to list what's included, like the charger, fittings or switchboard work, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
See their licence
Every partner is licensed. If you'd like to check for yourself, contractor licence numbers start with EC and electrician numbers with EW, and both are on the Building and Energy public register.
Ask about the warranty
Partners provide their own workmanship warranty and carry public liability insurance. Ask what the warranty covers when you accept the quote.
Keep your safety certificate
When the work is done, the electrical contractor must give you an Electrical Safety Certificate within 28 days. Keep it with your home records.
Look up any electrician or contractor on the Building and Energy licence search.
