GoodWe Battery Installer — Southern Perth
GoodWe's ESA (Energy Storage All-in-one) series has earned a strong reputation among Australian solar and battery installers for one standout reason: near-seamless blackout backup. The ESA switches from grid to battery in under 4 milliseconds — fast enough that sensitive electronics and medical equipment stay on without interruption. If reliable backup power is a priority for your household, GoodWe is worth serious consideration. As a licensed electrical contractor in Southern Perth, we install GoodWe battery systems for homes in Rockingham, Mandurah, Baldivis, Kwinana, and the surrounding areas. Western Australia Requirements
- All home battery installations in WA require a licensed electrician — no DIY permitted
- Western Power must be notified before a grid-tied battery system is energised
- Synergy bi-directional metering is required if you plan to export stored energy to the grid
- Switchboard must have a safety switch (RCD) on all final subcircuits — upgrade may be required
- The GoodWe ESA is compatible with most existing solar inverters, but a site assessment confirms compatibility before installation
Common Questions
Do I need a separate solar inverter with the GoodWe ESA?
No. The GoodWe ESA is an all-in-one system with a built-in hybrid inverter. It manages both solar input (if you have panels) and battery charge/discharge in one unit. If you already have a solar inverter, we'll assess compatibility — in some cases it can be retained and AC-coupled to the battery.
What makes the GoodWe backup different from other batteries?
The sub-4ms switchover time. Most battery systems take 20–50ms to switch to backup mode, which is fast enough for most appliances but can cause brief interruptions for sensitive equipment. GoodWe's UPS-level switching is imperceptible — ideal for home offices, medical equipment, and NAS servers.
Can GoodWe run an entire house during a blackout?
It depends on your battery capacity and household consumption. A larger ESA system can power the whole home; a smaller system may be configured for critical circuits (lights, fridge, WiFi, phone charging). We'll discuss your backup priorities during the site assessment.
How long does installation take?
Most GoodWe battery installations take one full day. Switchboard upgrades, if needed, may extend this to two days. We handle all Western Power paperwork and notify Synergy for metering changes.
Is GoodWe eligible for WA energy rebates or feed-in tariff?
GoodWe systems are eligible for Synergy's Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme (DEBS) in WA, provided your system is properly notified and metered. We include all required notifications in the installation process.
